ARTIST Bio

Kaya McCluskey is an Indigenous Latinx artist. She received a BA in Studio Art from Colorado College. In 2018 she painted Deep Calls to Deep (private collection) seen as part of the UNDIVIDED exhibit at the National Underground Railway Freedom Center in January 2020.

Much of her works depict the landscapes of home while continuing a generational painting tradition. Cathedral Skies, depicting Tava (Sun Mountain) aka Pike’s Peak juxtaposed with Sainte Chapelle cathedral was commissioned for the Anselm Society’s 2019 “Your Imagination Redeemed” conference. Kaya’s latest piece, created for Compassion International’s 2021 Global Summit, engages a broader perspective; proudly displaying the national trees of various countries around the world.

Kaya is passionate about creating beautiful images that show the land honored, truth revealed, and justice enacted. Her strengths lie in her ability to translate a client’s hopes into a painting imbued with meaning and backed by hours of careful research, imagination and prayer. She shares life with her extraordinary spouse and their three lively children.
